Lil Bow Wow Takes On The Men In Black


Twentieth Century Fox has moved its basketball comedy "Like Mike" to July 3rd, anticipated box office topper "Men in Black 2" over the five-day Independence Day frame, which is one of the biggest movie event weekends of the year.

Bruce Snyder Fox’s president of domestic distribution: “Every element of "Like Mike" - from the test scores to the teaser trailer - has audiences cheering like it’s the NBA finals. We think we have the starting lineup that can take on any challengers.”

Fox previously had slated "Like Mike" for a July 12th release.

"We're hoping to pick up some of the 'Men in Black' viewers before they go back to see that picture a second time," Snyder.

The movie also has competion from the Warner Bros "The Powerpuff Girls Movie."

Teenage hip hop sensation Lil Bow Wow stars in the film as a diminutive young man whose dream is to play in the NBA. After trying on a pair of sneakers with the initials “MJ” inscribed inside, he finds himself capable of shooting, passing and dunking with the best of pro basketball. Eventually, he leads a once-downtrodden NBA team to victory.

"Like Mike", directed by John Schultz ("Drive Me Crazy"), also stars Morris Chestnut, Jonathan Lipnicki, Robert Forster, Crispin Glover, Anne Meara and Eugene Levy.
