Synopsis: The story begins in the 70's with Franco's edict depriving citizens of their civil rights while a pregnant prostitute gives birth to a son, Victor, on a city bus in the dead of night. Twenty years later, Victor is a pizza delivery guy who is smitten with a spoiled young Italian girl Helena. She is no longer interested. When a gunshot is heard in Helena's building, neighbors summon the police. Two detectives, David and Sancho, arrive and observe what looks like a fight in progress between Helena and Victor. They enter the apartment with guns drawn and after a scuffle, a gun goes off. Four years later, David is now a wheelchair basketball star and is married to Helena, who has cleaned up her act and oversees a shelter for disabled children. Days after his release from prison, Victor is visiting his mom's grave when he recognizes Helena and David at the funeral of her father.
