Nick Gets Stargirl Rights

Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures have paid low-six figures to option the rights to Jerry Spinelli's novel 'Stargirl,' reports Variety.Nickelodeon Movies will produce the movie as is to be adapted by Elizabeth Allen and Nick Pustay.
The offbeat comedy centers on a highly eccentric student who turns her high school on its head with her unconventional antics and selfless spirit and a boy who wants to fly under the radar among his ultraconformist peers until she pulls him out of the crowd and into the spotlight.
