Synopsis: An affectionate portrait of New Zealand actor and musician Bruno Lawrence. Beginning his career in the late 1960's as a jazz drummer with his friend Geoff Murphy, a trumpeter, the two toured New Zealand and Australia with their band Blerta. After being offered a television program in the mid-70's, Lawrence and his collaborators created an anarchic show unlike anything that had been seen previously. Starting in 1976, with Murphy's "Wildman," Lawrence began his long career as a film actor, working with a number of accomplished directors and fellow actors, until his death in 1995.
