Synopsis: In May of 1991, Soviet cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev took off for the Soviet Space Station. During his absence from Earth, the armed coup of August 1991 takes place in Moscow, and Krikalev is forced to stay in space for almost an entire year. When he returns, the Soviet Union no longer exists, and he lands as a Russian citizen.
