Nolte, Shatner, Lavigne In 'Over The Hedge'


Nick Nolte, William Shatner, Steve Carell, Avril Lavigne, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Wanda Sykes and Allison Janney will lend their voices to DreamWorks Animation's Over the Hedge, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick are directing, which follows a mischievous raccoon and his sensitive best friend, a turtle, who with the other forest creatures find their woodland home being encroached by suburbia.

Bruce Willis and Garry Shandling already have been cast as R.J., the raccoon, and Verne, the turtle, respectively.

Carell will voice Hammy, a squirrel. Shatner will give life to Ozzie the possum, a thespian who plays dead better than anyone in the forest. Lavigne plays Heather, his daughter.

O'Hara will be Penny, a porcupine, while Levy plays fellow porcupine Lew. Sykes is Stella the skunk. Nolte plays a bear named Vincent.

Janney plays a human character, a Realtor named Gladys.
