Synopsis:
The film tells the life story of Miguel Pinero, the late Puerto Rican poet and playwright, who did time in Sing Sing for drug dealing and petty theft. When he turned his prison experiences into the 1974 Tony-Award winning play "Short Eyes," the resulting notoriety and fame was too much for the Latino bad-boy genius. He retreated to the darker corners of New York City dying prematurely in 1988.
