Rickman, Kline in Classroom Drama
[Tuesday, February 13th, 2001]Galaxy Quests Rickman and of course Kline are said to be teaming up to star as classmates in the movie "The Palace Thief". The film is being described as Dead Poets Society meets Goodbye Mr Chips. Ananova reports:
Tracey Ullman is tipped to play the girl Kline left behind in the adventure about a junior school teacher looking back over his life.
Michael Hoffman who made Soapdish and One Fine Day will direct the £30 million drama.
It also stars Mira Sorvino as one of Kline's old flames.
The film is based on a short story by Ethan Canin and is being talked about as Dead Poets Society meets Goodbye Mr Chips.
Former Royal Shakespeare Company star Rickman will play Kline's best friend in the saga. He played the Sheriff in Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves.
Ullman - now an award winning millionairess through her TV roles in America - played womanising Kline's wife in the 1990 comedy I Love You To Death.
