The legendary vampire Lestat, awakening from a decades-long slumber, becomes a famous rock 'n' roll star whose music wakes up the ancient Akasha, the queen of all vampires, who subsequently embarks on a mission to make him her king. In the process, a young woman who works as a vampire hunter falls in love with Lestat.
