An elderly invalid named Kijyuro Takazawa becomes the guinea pig in an experiment involving the Z-001, a multi-dimensional, computer-driven bed which replaces the need for human nursing. Although physically imprisoned within the Z-001, Takazawa's brainwaves merge with the bed's computer network to alert his young nurse Haruko of his peril. When Haruko and her friends are blocked in their efforts to rescue Takazawa, the Z-001 suddenly takes control of the situation, creating chaos in its violent path.
