WW1 Christmas Truce To Be Adapted

Chris and Paul Weitz (directors of "About a Boy" and "American Pie") are to adapth Stanley Weintraub's account of a WWI Christmas cease-fire, "White Night," reports Variety."Silent Night," they said, will be character-driven and writer-friendly
The book is about an unlikely episode of the Great War, in which soldiers on both sides spontaneously laid down their arms, exchanged gifts, played soccer and serenaded each other. It's "a war movie without that much war," the Weitzes said.
