Synopsis:
The story of how Marseille locals converge. Foremost is Michele, a woman who slabs fish at the local fish market. Afer putting in backbreaking hours, she must return home to a sullen husband and a daughter fighting a debilitating drug addiction. Michele's lot in life is a hard one; she is forced not just to keep her daughter from overdosing, but must also play mother to her daughter's baby. Paul, another Marseillais, uses the redundancy pay from his dock job to buy the car of his dreams, which he will use as a taxi. His parents, both retired, love their son very much and worry that he is still single, but Paul is content to hang out with the local hookers down by the dock. Meanwhile, Viviane, a music teacher tired of the incessant cynicism of her ex-con husband Abderamane, has been transformed by his stay in prison. And there's the brilliant young Georgian pianist who plays on the streets to finance his studies at the local conservatory.
