Filming Begins On 'Tomb Raider 2'

Filming has begun on the "Tomb Raider" movie sequel at Pinewood Studios, reports Ananova.

"Tomb Raider II" will also shoot on location in China and Africa with "Speed" director Jan de Bont at the helm.

The sequel is tentatively-titled "The Cradle Of Life."

Stephen Jaggs of Pinewood Studios spoke about the prosperous relationship of his company with Paramount Pictures during a lavish Hollywood celebration of Paramount.

He said: "They are undoubtedly one of the most important film studios in the history of American film-making and along with Disney, MGM, Fox, Columbia, Universal and 20th Century make up the big seven.

"We have recently worked with them on the Mission Impossible films and are currently filming Tomb Raider 2. We have enjoyed a long and super relationship with Paramount."

In the film, Lara is sent on a mission to rescue the world from the exploits of a Chinese crime syndicate led by an oriental crime lord called Chen Lo.
