Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Bryan Cranston is negotiations to play the villain in Columbia's remake of Total Recall.

The original 1990 movie was based on a Philip K. Dick story, "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale." The film followed a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air.

This was mentioned way back when the seoasn ended. The writing staff will get a head start on writing so that could make the seoasn even better. The Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm have had long gaps between seoasns, while its annoying to wait the shows don't disappoint.I'm thinking this is because Mad Men is also going to be bumped back since Matthew Weiner is directing a film with Jennifer Aniston/Bradley Cooper. It was supposed to happen during hiatus last year but it didn't work out. So that will push production of Mad Men back. That's also probably part of the reason why AMC is moving forward with The Walking Dead, The Killing, Hell on Wheels and maybe a mini-series to fill the calendar along with Rubicon. I guess we'll find out when Mad Men ends their seoasn when it will come back. With Breaking Bad moved to July 2011 I see Mad Men in November 2011 or Early 2012. The Killing maybe paired with the second seoasn of The Walking Dead will likely air in March 2011. Just speculation.
