'The Untouchables' Are Getting A Prequel

Brian De Palma's 1987 The Untouchables is getting a prequel spinoff in the form of The Untouchables: Mother's Day, according to Variety.

Antoine Fuqua is looking to direct the project which will focus on the rise of Chicago mob kingpin Capone, in the years before Ness and his lawmen.

The Untouchables was also a 1959-63 TV series starring Robert Stack as Ness. Both the series and the De Palma feature were based on the novel of the same name by Oscar Fraley.
