Nicolas Cage Attached To 'The Wicker Man' Remake
[Thursday, May 8th, 2003]Director Neil LaBute has been speaking with The Sun Times about re-making The Wicker Man, with Nicolas Cage in talks to star.
"The original was a horror film about a policeman [played by Edward Woodward] sent to a small island to investigate the disappearance of a girl who finds a pagan society," director Neil LaBute says.
LaBute says he's moving the story to America. "[Nicolas] Cage is attached to play [the cop]. He winds up on this island that's a very matriarchal society run by women who are direct descendants of pilgrims."
Who will play the babes? "The women range in age from 10 to 50. I think Angelina [Jolie] and Winona [Ryder] would be great choices," he says.
