Austin Powers in Goldmember

Britney Spears will appear as herself in the new Austin Powers film, 'Goldmember,' reports Variety.

Spears is reportedly going to play herself, like Burt Bacharach in the first two movies. Mike Myers and director Jay Roach have also approached Quincy Jones to play themselves.

Filming on the third Austin Powers movie is due to begin soon, and it is expected to be released next summer.

Austin Powers should be released on July 26, 2002.
