John McNaughton will direct RKO Pictures' "The Age of Consent," with Jordana Brewster, Kip Pardue and Cole Hauser in negotiations to star, reports The Hollywood Reporter
David Warfield updated the material, which is described as a mix of "Body Heat" and McNaughton's own "Wild Things" for young adults. It follows a young man (Pardue) who falls for a woman (Brewster) who then accuses him of statutory rape. The incident forces him to dig for the truth behind her accusations, which leads to discoveries he never imagined.
Hauser would play the woman's older brother, who is very protective of his sister.
The film, inspired by RKO's 1932 David O. Selznik feature of the same name, will begin shooting late in the summer.
