John Woo Eyes Up 'Blind Spot'

Blind Spot
MGM has snapped up the spec script "Blind Spot" from TV producer Evan Katz for mid-six figures, with action helmer John Woo and partner Terence Chang on board to produce, reports Variety.

The thriller, set in Washington, D.C., revolves around a man wrongfully accused of a crime.

Woo is eyeing "Blind Spot" as a potential directing gig but is already busy with several other pics at other studios.

Katz serves as a consulting producer on the Fox drama "24." He also created the WB show "Three" and "Special Unit 2" for UPN.

He scripted "Spot" while working in between shows and seasons. He also has the feature comedy "The Auteurs" set up at Lions Gate.

"This has been a labor of love for the past three years," Katz said of "Spot."
