Blanchards Thriller 'Breathtaker' To Get Adapted

The Breathtaker
Scribe Sheldon Turner has signed on to adapt Alice Blanchard's thriller "The Breathtaker" for Warner Bros, reports Variety

Adaptation deal is understood to be for low against mid-six figures.
Blanchard's forthcoming novel, to be published in October 2004 by Warner Books, is set in present day Oklahoma, where a small town police chief must match wits with a serial murderer who only strikes during the chaos of a tornado.

Turner has been busy of late, with Sony-based Mace Neufeld picking up his spec drama "By Virtue Fall" only last month. He's also adapted Eugene Izzi's novel "The Booster" for Intermedia Films and sold his pitch "52 Blocks" to Col, where John Baldecchi is producing.
