'Captain Justice' To Come For $3 Million

Captain Justice
Producer Roger Corman plans to make a now-rare foray into the theatrical feature world with "Captain Justice," an action comedy budgeted at $3 million, reports Variety.

Written and to be directed by Victoria Lakeman, pic is the story of a young boy whose dreams collide with real-life adventures when a criminal poses as the boy's favorite comicbook hero.

While the budget is huge by Corman's usual shoestring standards, he's true to form in seeking ways to trimmed the actual cash outlay through both Canadian and Irish tax subsidies as well as a German tax shelter.

He's also planning to utilize his retired comic label, Cosmic Comics, to publish a "Captain Justice" comicbook in tandem with the film's release.

Production is slated for next spring.
