Joel Zwick ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding") has signed on to direct the offbeat romantic comedy "Centerfold" for Mandalay Pictures, reports Variety.
Project, being rewritten by Laurice Elehwanyand Rick Kopp ("My Girl") is the story of a college senior who, in an ill-advised attempt to one-up his former high-school nemesis, submits his girlfriend's photo to a calendar contest. Plan goes awry when a national men's mag gets hold of the photo and offers the g.f. a life of wealth and fame as a centerfold pinup.
Milestone Films, which has entered into a multipicture production deal with Mandalay, is partnering on the project.
" 'Greek Wedding' was a tremendous experience, and I am very happy to get involved with another great project and team as a follow-up," said Zwick.
