Russell Crowe will be reuniting with his
Beautiful Mind director Ron Howard for the period boxing drama 'Cinderella Man', according to
Variety.
Crowe and Howard had been looking for a film to do together after 'A Beautiful Mind', and the director liked Braddock's story.
The project, to be produced by Universal/Miramax, follows Depression-era fighter and folk hero Jim Braddock, who defeated heavyweight champ Max Baer in a 15-round slugfest in 1935.
A mid-November start date has been set for production to begin. Howard's Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer will produce, and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman will come aboard for a rewrite.
