Jerry Bruckheimer Films is heading back for another round at the Coyote Ugly, reports Variety
Gina Wendkos, who penned the 2000 pic "Coyote Ugly," has been drafted to write a sequel. The original was the tale of Violet "Jersey" Sanford, an innocent singer who loses her inhibitions while working at an all-girl bar.
Budgeted at $45 million, modest by Bruckheimer standards, the romantic comedy grossed more than $100 million worldwide. The soundtrack and video release were also top sellers.
The original pic starred Piper Perabo, Adam Garcia, Maria Bello and Bridget Moynahan.
