Jonathan Rhys Meyers is set to join the cast of
The Children of Huang Shi, says Variety.
The feature, helmed by Roger Spottiswoode, is set in war-ravaged China during the late 1930s. It's the true story of a young Englishman, George Hogg (Rhys Meyers), who led 60 orphaned boys on a journey across the Liu Pan Shan mountains to safety on the edge of the Mongolian desert.
Meyers will join a cast that includes Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun Fat and Radha Mitchell. The project, which is based on a script by Jane Hawksley, begins shooting November 13th in the Chinese province of Gansu.
