Sony Pictures Classics has acquired U.S. rights to David Cronenberg's "
A Dangerous Method" from Hanway Films.
Christopher Hampton adapted his own 2002 stage play "The Talking Cure," based on John Kerr's 1993 book "A Most Dangerous Method." Story concerns the volatile love triangle between psychoanalyst Carl Jung (portrayed by Fassbender); his mentor, Sigmund Freud (played by Mortensen); and Sabina Spielrein (Knightley), the young woman who comes between them.
