"Devdas," the most expensive Bollywood movie ever made, will unspool on a record 1,000 prints worldwide -- double the number of last year's blockbuster "Kabhi khushi kabhie gham," reports Variety.

Helmer Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie cost $10.2 million and preemed out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
Starring former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh Khan, pic is a love triangle from the classic novel by Sarat Chander Chatterjee, which has been filmed nine times in four Indian languages.

Universal Music India has bought the music rights for $3 million, a record for an Indian film soundtrack.

It will be distribbed by London-based Eros Entertainment and released July 12 in India.
