Winona Ryder is signing on to two movies, the first
Embers which she will star opposite Sean Connery. The other is the leading role in "The Widow Claire" for director Robert Altman (
Gosford Park), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Embers is based on the Sanor Mari's Hungarian novel, and will star Ryder, Sean Connery and Klaus Maria Branduaer for director Milos Forman (
Man on the Moon), with production begining on Oct. 8 in Prague.
Embers is about two men, once best friends, who meet 41 years after last seeing each other. The duo, to be played by Connery and Brandauer, sit down to discuss what drove them apart -- a young woman (Ryder) who ended up marrying Connery's character but may have been having an affair with the other man.
