20th Century Fox has picked up a pitch from writing team Ric Roman Waugh and Tag Mendillo titled "End of the Road," reports The Hollywood Reporter.
At the same time, Gordon has picked up the U.S. remake rights to German Cold War thriller "Der Tunnel" from Berlin-based producers teamWorx, teamWorx head Nico Hofmann said.
The action project "Road" -- described as "Speed" meets "Memento" -- is a gritty road movie that follows a young stuntman who is offered a job he can't refuse by the Cajun mafia, sending him on a high-speed odyssey from Las Vegas to Baton Rouge.
"Der Tunnel" is based on the true story of a daring underground escape from East to West Berlin after the Berlin Wall was built.
