Sean Astin In Sandler '50 First Kisses' Talks
[Monday, March 17th, 2003]Sean Astin is in negotiations to star opposite Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in Columbia Pictures' 50 First Kisses, according to Hollywood Reporter. Peter Segal will be directing, with production slated to begin in the spring.
'Kisses' is about a man (Sandler) who falls in love with a woman (Barrymore) after a memorable encounter but finds out that she has short-term memory loss. Because she has no idea who he is, he has to get her to fall in love with him all over again every day.
Last week, Rob Schneider came on board to play Ula, the Hawaiian best friend to Sandler's character.
Astin will play Barrymore's brother, who speaks with a lisp.
He most recently directed, co-wrote and produced the short film 'The Long and Short of It', which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
