Lindsay Lohan Joins 'Freaky Friday' Remake

Lindsay Lohan has signed to star opposite Annette Bening in the Walt Disney Co. remake of "Freaky Friday," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Taking on the role that Jodie Foster made famous in the original 1976 version of the film. Lohan will play a tomboy teen who constantly argues with her widowed mother (Bening). When she and her mother reveal their desire to escape their situation, they exchange bodies. But with Bening's character due to get married, the two are forced to figure out a way to remedy the dilemma.

The "Freaky Friday" remake is being directed by Mark S. Waters and was written by Heather Hach.

"Freaky Friday" reunites Lohan with Disney, for which she starred in another classic remake, the 1998 comedy "The Parent Trap." Lohan is repped by Endeavor.
