Jamie Lee Curtis has joined the cast of "Freaky Friday," replacing Annette Bening, reports Variety.

Mark Harmon is in talks to come aboard the Walt Disney Co. remake, which is being directed by Mark S. Waters.

Curtis replaces Bening, who fell out of the project last week for undisclosed reasons, as the mother of a tomboy teen (Lindsay Lohan) with whom she constantly argues. When mother and daughter reveal their desire to escape their situations, they magically exchange bodies. But with Curtis' character due to get married, the two are forced to figure out a way to remedy their newfound dilemma.

Harmon, whose deal is yet to be finalized, would play Curtis' fiance in the film.
