Gruber And Thames Tahke 'The Farmer'

The Farmer Wants A Wife
U.K. indie Gruber Films and Thames Television have agreed to co-produce "The Farmer Wants A Wife," a feature picture based on Thames' documentary TV series of the same name, reports Variety.

The romantic comedy, with a proposed budget of up to $10 million, marks the re-launch of Thames' film division, Euston Films, which has been dormant since 1992.

"Farmer," described as the trials and tribulations of "urban woman meets rural man", is still at the scripting stage, but Holmes said he was in talks to attach a director.

Funding is expected to come from a number of sources.
