Symmetric Chaos
I prefer Alex Ross.

manorastroman
i prefer alex ross as well, but that pencil of reeves' face is pretty mental.

I'm going to go with Sebastian Columbo because of the two pictures here, they only look like the same person because they're supposed to. Well, they're different actors... you know what I mean.

WrathfulDwarf
Both great artist but the trophy will go to Alex.

Deathstroke
I like AR's art better.

Blah Gabriel Del'Otto owns them both.

Alex Ross out of the two, the first Columbo is horrid IMO.

Is this one of Gabriel Del'Otto's drawings? Yeah, he's pretty good.

Out of these two, it's tough to pick, but I guess I'd go with Ross. But damn, that second Reeve drawing is awesome.

Yeah, that's one of HER's. She did all the covers for the main Annihilation books.

I really don't like Sebastian Columbo's art at all confused

My bad. smile

You don't even like the second one? confused

The Libertine
All three mentioned are great but they will never match people like Mobius, Kirby or Don Lawrence for long term impact. Although Ross when he did Marvels created something unique that many have tried to copy and noone has managed.

The second one is pretty good, I'll admit that. But Alex Ross' artwork (from the two examples of both shown) eclipses Columbo, but take in mind I haven't seen or probably just havent paid attention to Columbo's artwork before.

The standard of artwork now is SO much better than it was back in the day, of course it's iconic and classic because we've grown up with it. But as artwork if you gave me a Kirby and Alex Ross picture, It wouldn't take me long to choose the Ross.

Artwork today is more cinematic, it's not always as evocative, much of it is soulless and very static. I believe movement, motion and action was done better then. The pictures had more soul.

Wow. Even though it's Wolverine, it's still very cool.
