OK two quick questions for those that think everything written in these movies makes perfect sense ..... wink

1) In Reloaded towards the end when Neo Morpheus and the keymaker are in the secret level of doors, Link makes several comments that they cant be seen while in there. Once Neo drags Morpheus through the blockade of Smiths and makes in through the door, LINK SAYS, "Theyre IN!" ut oh Explain that.

2) In the Animatrix Last Flight, someone PLEASE tell me why the Osiris crew decided to let their ship get destoyed by sentinals rather than use the EMP ??

3) Someone also explain to me how Neo knew "The Matrix" was the correct term to call something that he had no idea what it was in the first place.

forumcrew
the hallway is backdoors.. try to think of it like a computer... once they are through the door they are no longer in the backdoor area and link can see them.. they are simply in another room in the matrix.. where the hall of doors had back doors into places all over the matrix and was hidden.. someone else can give u a more detailed response.. but im too tired to get into it anymore

Let me elaborate a little better on what forum said. When Neo, Morph, and The Keymaker are in the white hallways, they are, effectively, outside of the matrix. They are in program access writes that allow them to travel between portions of the matrix code, thus, places inside the matrix.

So when they enter the backdoor, they disappear from Link's screen. However, when they make it through the blockade of Smiths, they Re-ENTER the matrix at the level of this building inside the matrix that cannot be reached by any other means. It is a floor that has no stairs or elevators or anything of the like, but is still inside the matrix.

So when they make it through, Link is once again able to see them.

Your second question was resolved in M1. In the last flight, the chick went into the matrix to deliver a message. While inside of the Matrix, the crew cannot fire the EMP, not only will it disable their ship (because the power is on) but it will kill those inside the Matrix that are aboard their vessel. Also, to add to the dellima, if the Osiris was to shut down and fire the EMP, they would have killed many sentinals, yes, but they are on the surface with millions of sentinals for miles and miles. It would have only postponed the inevitable by moments because the EMP blast would not have been at a high enough altitude, nor would it have been strong enough to kill all the sentinals.

So I am most confused by what you found confusing? stick out tongue

I think link knew because the freakin building didn't blow up. Recall?

ITALIAN926
Damn it !! So much for holes in the movie, there ARE answers to everything... huh? The Osiris COULD have used the EMP while still underground when being chased by ONLY 5 or 6 sentinals, BUT I guess their PURPOSE was to discover the digging.

The Omega
Italien> No. If a crew-member is uploaded to the Matrix he/she will die instantly if an EMP is fired, as it will short-circuit the comp-equipment through which said crew-member is uploaded.
The Osiris crew couldn't risk that, as Jue needed to deliver the message.

As for Neo knowing the name "Matrix." Remember he's not the only one trying to find an "answer". And the freed humans utilize chat-boards and hack, so the "What is the matrix" wasn't something that just popped into his mind.

ITALIAN926
Omega, they had the chance to fire the EMP prior to sending Jue into the Matrix.... PRIOR to flying the ship to the surface.

Also, you still didnt give an answer as to how Neo knew the term "matrix". Looking for an answer/or the meaning of life AND knowing the term MATRIX are two different things. I think its strange how he knew the question "What is the Matrix?" Why would he use the term "Matrix" whered he get the term from?

wink

forumcrew
read what omega said.. that is the answer.. and thats as detailed as it can really get because they dont show us a to of background on neo.. but you can speculate that

dave123
where did we get the term "black hole" from, its just a word that goes with something we dont know much about

ITALIAN926
Thats the point Im trying to make Dave, a black hole is a HOLE that matter gets pulled into, scientists know that. Neo refers to the MATRIX and has no idea or clue what it is. Whered he get the word from?

Rewatch the 1st ten minutes of M1, youll see. He should be asking " What is Life?"

The Unknown
You should rewatch the the first ten minutes. The screen on Neo's computer says "The matrix has you"...

ITALIAN926
Hmmm never thought of that ! Thanx !

Remember that the Architect called its creation "The Matrix"? Neo didn't think this thing's name out of his head! Matices are a very big chapter in mathematics. They can help you solve complex systems with millions of variables very quickly (well with the help of computers). Now think of it this way : in a matrix which is in the process of being solved, every block interacts with the others, and any change in its value affects the whole matrix. That gives us a very nice metaphor of our everyday life being controlled by a mathematician. In the matrix, it's up to the "mathematician" to solve the system! Up to the machines. They can do whatever they want with the blocks, the human beings. The Matrix as a movie name is very clever!

Pay attention to detail!! LoL It's already mentioned, but when Neo was introduced into the first movie his computer said "Wake up Neo.... The Matrix has you...."

Hence, if he did not know anything about the Matrix prior to that, he would have been extremely curious after that happened.

SECONDLY - The Osiris could have dove into the tunnels, yes, but here's the problem:

On the surface you do not need to find a broadcast point because reception to a wireless type network of that magnitude would be good just about anywhere - undernieth the serface, however, they may need to find hard wired lines, or good reception points so Jue would not have been able to make the drop without danger.

Secondly, when an EMP weapon is fired it takes a massive amount of energy, so much so that the only practical means we have of generating that kind of weapon effectively in todays world is by detonating a nuclear warhead. So the ship would have been stranded for a while - and they would have had millions of squiddies to contend with.

Once the crew reached the surface like that, they knew they would not live -- this is why Jue loaded up in the first place. If they couldn't make it back to Zion fast enough and warn people in person, then they needed to make a drop in the Matrix. The only reason they fought was to stall the sentinals long enough for Jue to make the drop.

Osiris
i'll answer only the 1st 1
link got that bcoz he can know some1 entering the door or leaving through it (he cant see whats happening between it)
