I'll admit that I'm a finicky movie goer,.......even I love this movie. It is great. It took about an hour for me to stop referring to Will as Legolas when talking to my wife but after that.....fell right into the movie.

Depp is such a great actor. This is possibly his best acting performance ever.........and that's saying alot.

yes he is THE BEST actor ever!!!not just in this movie but in ALL over 30 movies
it's just that they're all not commercialised so he didn't get v.famous,but ppl did know him.only like,at the back of the mind kinda thing.
POTC was the one wich totally skyrockets him to fame!!!!
which i might add,is not what he wants -he wants good quality acting not fame.
that also makes him so great.

yeah this movie wasn't his best but this one skyrocketed himt o fame -for this generation atleast(altho i was a lil crazy over him ever since i saw edward scissorhands when i was 10 anyway)
and i still think he's the best but then again that's a matter of opinion

I think the reason I respect Johnny Depp so much is because he didn't take the easy route- he never sold out artistically by playing the dumb action hero or all the rom-com parts he must have been offered over the years. Depp has only ever made movies that have interested him, and therefore, he has remained interesting and credible.

I managed to get through that entire post without referring to Johnny as beautiful or hot.

well that's what i meant in sum otehr post when i said he dun go for commercialised movies but for what he wants to play and what will push his talents n gives him that chance to improve HIMSELF,not to please the masses(which he does anyway)

The eccentricity he puts into his characters it waht makes him a great actor, otherwise he would just be passable

Yeah, the stuff that he does, he comes up with. Most, if not all, of his characters are self-created, which is another thing that makes him a great actor

When I went to go see POTC, I thought that Orlando Bloom was going to steal the show, but Jhonny Depp really did. I didn't really know Johnny Depp before POTC so I always went with Orlando Bloom. I definately give Johnny an award for this one, it was just amazing, and sooo hilarious!

depps best performance was in fear and loathing in vegas i think he played his part down great. and also in donnie brasco he was just fing awesome but yes i just finally watched this movie also and i have to admit i like this movie alot it was very good and depp did play his part very good and he did play his part great in this movie.

Johnny D is awesome.. it's the way he always does what he wants to regardless of what everyone thinks that always gets me.. he usually only picks movies that have great meaning and moral to them(ie Edward Scissorhands and The Brave) and movie that apeal to him.. it's so great how he's so independent and everything!!!(ohh who went all the way without calling him hott or anything like that!!damn lol )

Depp really has come of age as an actor.I would actually rate Pirates as one of my top 20 favorites of all time.I love the scenery and Keira Knightly is beyond gorgeous.
