Joshua drove down a inner city street. He was listening to some Jazz, while he was heading to a party.

Angelina sat in front of her mirror as she applied her lipstick and eyeshadow. She had her long golden hair curled and flowing down her back, and she wore a short red cocktail dress. Diamond earings glittered on her ears, and a matching necklace was around her neck, and bracelet around her wrist. All of these were presents from her father. He was always giving her stuff. Her room contained more than five hundred thousand dollars worth of jewlery, and she could only imagine how much her clothes were worth.
She was nineteen, and very beautiful. Tonight was her father's birthday party at his club downtown. She was on her way there now. He was going to meet her there, thinking it was a quiet dinner for the two of them. In actuality it was a surprise party. She stood up and slipped on her red velvet high heels. He backless dress revealed her rose tattoo on her right shoulderblade, it weeped red blood petals. Underneath was written "Angel"
She was her fathers angel. She loved him so much, but she hated her life. Her life circulated around the mafia. Her father was the leader, the Godfather, of the Italian mafia in Chicago. He owned so much, and was protected by his dedicated men.
Her mother died when she was only a little girl. He father never was remarried. He told her he was happy this way. However, even though she was currently single, it was not her choice to make. Her father was choosing a man for her to marry by her twentieth birthday. She had no say in the matter. He told her to trust him. It seemed like every week there was a new man at her father's door waiting to win her over, but he turned most of them away. He took pride in his daughter.
She grabbed her jacket and walked downstairs and out to the car. The driver opened her door for her with a smile.
"Good evening Miss. Connerolli."
"Good evening Burke." She said smiling as she stepped into the car.
Burke closed the door gently to the back seat, and then got behind the steering wheel and pulled out of the driveway.

Joshua checked himself in the mirror as he drove to the party. It was suppost to be a special party. 'I hop there is a good number of girls there...' Joshua thought as he neared the party.

Joshua pulled up into Mr Connerolli's driveway and got out of the car. "Geez, this place is big..." Joshua said to himself

Speranza strolled out of the big house and bumped into Joshua. She walked past, with out an apology. <<She has no manners!! *Gasp*>>

She entered the club. The guests of the party greeted her smiling, the gentlemen she passed took her hand gently and kissed it. Others kissed her on the cheek. She smiled back and humoured them.
Before she entered the dinning area she already had a glass of champagne in her hand. Her older brothers Ken and Charlie stood up to greet her with a hug. They were dressed in expensive suites. She didn't see them a lot since they were usually away on "business"
"Angelina, you look fantastic!" Ken said smiling.
"Yeah Angie, you really look great." Charlie added.
They were both at least two hundred pounds of muscle.
"Thanks." She glanced around. "Is daddy here yet?"
"Not yet."
Suddenly there was a soft tap on her shoulder. She turned around seeing Ryan. He was a good friend of the family, and had been trying to win Angelina over for years.
"Hello Angelina."
"Hi Ryan." She tried to avoid eye contact.
"You really look beautiful."

Joshua just looked at her "Don't you know how ta say excuse me?" Joshua said under his breath. Then Joshua walked to the door.

<<Hey Force, isn't the party at a club? Or are you there for something else?>>

Joshua walked inside, since he was still pretty new to the mafia, he was only greeted by a couple of people. He walked around then got some champagne, he drank careful because he didn't want to spill any on new tuxedo.

~i'm at wherever bid is at~

Angelina excused herself from the conversation she was in and went into the ladies room to check her make up. When she walked back out she saw her father.
"Angel!" He smiled.
He was a big man, a little overweight, but a loveable family man none the less. She walked up to him and hugged him.
"How do you like it?"
"I love it!" He smiled. "Did you set this up all by yourself."
She nodded. "Yep."
For once she felt like she was in a regular family, not "The Family" until she looked around and saw all them men in expensive suites, the women wearing incredibly expensive jewelery, and whenever she hugged one of the guests, she felt the cold metal of a gun underneath their jackets. It was her life, and she had to get used to it.

<<Right, then Speranza never bumped you, cause she was at the house...>>

As her father went off into the other end of the club with her brothers and his friends she made her way around the club, greeting the guests and making small talk.

<<Hey, where are you guys?>>

Joshua walked around meeting other people of the "family".

When they finished dinner, Uncle Fingers and Speranza said good bye and went their seperate ways. Speranza would have gone to the library but it was closed so she went home.

(( where is home for her? ))

Angelina looked across the crowd and some saw someone she hadn't met before. It was Joshua. She thought she knew everyone, or at least almost everyone. She smiled in his direction. He was very handsome, perhaps he was one of the dates of a family member.

She walked up to Joshua after placing her empty champagne glass on a tray and taking a full one.
"Hi." She said smiling brightly. "I don't believe we've met, and that's a problem, because I'm supposed to know everyone."

Joshua paused for a moment, and looked at this girl that was talking to him, she was very good lookin "Um, hi, my name's Joshua, may i get your name?" Joshua asked as he bent down and kissed her hand.

"I'm Angelina, the daughter of James (I hope we didn't mention his first name, because if we did, I can't remember it lol ) Connerolli." She took her hand back after his lips left it. She then took a sip from her glass. "How do you like the party?"

"Angelina... that's a nice name, it suits you." "The parties pretty good, but who's it for?" Joshua asked

She grinned. "You come to a party and not even know who it's for? I should have you removed." She joked. "It's for my father, it's his fifty-fifth birthday." She let her eyes pass over him, she was curious about him.

"Wo, some body just told me that there was a party, i guess i'll have to get him a present later, so this is your father's party, that's great." Joshua said, then smiled.

She thought upon first glance he was one of the suitors her father lined up for her to marry. The fact that he wasn't, made him even more interesting. Every other guy who talked to her was a man her father wanted her to marry, so she naturally didn't like them. Angelina was a rebel, she wanted to think for herself, and marry who she wanted, even though she knew that was not reality.

"So can i get you another drink?" Joshua insisted

She nodded smiling. "That would be great."

Joshua smiled back "Alright" Joshua said as he walked away to get some champagne for them both.

Speranza was still sleeping.

Angelina took the champagne glass from him smiling. "So, what do you do?"

It was kinda hard for Joshua to explain it to her "I'm just another mafia guy..." Joshua said

Her expectations were suddenly let down. She always had the opinion there was no way someome from the mafia could be the man of her dreams. Maybe he would prove her wrong, but she never had good experiences with men and the mafia. "Oh." She said quietly. She then noticed she was being rude. "I mean, that's great." She lied, even though the next part she meant. "Just be careful."

*bump*

Speranza was still sleeping.

"But to tell you the truth i haven't even killed anybody, i just run arrons and stuff like that." Joshua stated "I hope that didn't sound, stupid." Joshua said as he took a sip of his champagne.

She shook her head. "No, that doesn't sound stupid at all."

"It doesn't? well if I was talking to a guy in the biz, it probably would sound stupid..." Joshua laughed

She grinned. "Well, most of the people who are in the mafia, aren't exactly the most interesting. Their idea of a conversation is how many people they killed. But you seem different." She took a sip from her glass.

"I don't like killing." Joshua stated then shrugged "Oh, i got this job because my dad was in the mafia, and he died in a car crash, while running from the coppers, and i was 17 when that happened, so here i am now." Joshua told her

"If you don't like killing people, then you're definately in the wrong business. Sorry to hear about your father, I lost my mother when I was little."

<<Yeah, I'm thinking I shouldn't have put Speranza to bed so early, but oh well, my bad >>

"I don't like to kill, but that doesn't mean that i won't..." Joshua stated "I'm sorry about your mother."

"Don't be, it happened a long time ago."
Suddenly a young man walked up to her, it was the same guy who was talking to her before. "Hello beautiful." He slurred.
She glanced him over and laughed. "You're durnk Ryan."
"Naw, I'm not drunk." He leaned heavily on her.
"Maybe you should take a cab home." She grinned, trying to hold him up.

He turned his attention to ryan. "Hey, Ryan... your drunk man." Joshua said as he went over to ryan and held him up to.

"Let's go take him outside to get a cab." She suggested. "There are always a couple outside waiting."

"Alright" Joshua agreed as him and Angelina took ryan outside.

She signaled for a cab as she slipped out from underneath Ryan who Josh was supporting pretty well. The cab stopped and she opened the door as Joshua helped him in.
"He'll tell you the adress." She told the cab driver reffering to Ryan as she leaned in the backseat.
The driver nodded.
"Good night Angel." Ryan said as he kissed her on the lips, half missing and kissing part of her cheek. She pulled away laughing, not offended.
"Sleep it off Ryan." She grinned.
Angelina closed the door and the car sped away. She hugged her arms around herself, rubbing her bare arms. The night was chilly. She watched the car drive away.
"There goes one of the men my father is considering me to marry." She told Josh as she rolled her eyes.

Joshua tried to hold back laughter, then he saw that she was cold, he took off his jacket and gave it to her "Here, and don't say that you don't need it, it is pretty cold out here." Joshua insisted

She greatfully took his jacket and pulled her arms through. It was warm inside from his body, and smelt of a nice cologne. "Thanks." The gentle breeze danced with her golden hair as they stood outside, the party could be heard from parking lot. "Would you like to go for a walk?"

"It would be my pleasure." Joshua smiled as he lead her to the sidewalk.

The city glowed brightly with neon signs, illuminating the night. A cool chill was in the air, but it wasn't freezing. She felt his jacket hit the back of her bare legs since her cocktail dress was so short. Her velvet red high heels clicked on the pavement. She glanced at Joshua smiling.
"So, tell me a little about yourself." She coaxed smiling.

Joshua couldn't say no to a face like that "Well, what would you like to know?" Joshua asked

"Anything." She grinned. He was different, she didn't know what it was, but he was different. She wondered what it was. She couldn't pin point it. She hoped he wasn't gay.

~he's straight, like a viagrafied male ~

"Hmmm, other than the fact that my mom raised me, or the fact that i learn how to shoot a gun at the age of 12.... Or what I like to do?" Joshua asked.

"Well, I know you like to party." She grinned as she stopped and leaned up against the railing of the bridge that overlooked the river. "What else do you like?" The breeze sifted through her hair, pulling it away from her eyes.

Joshua grinned "Well i like cars, fast cars." He said.

"I like speed too." She grinned. "It's not exactly "ladylike" but I think going fast is a big turn on." She winked.

It took him awhile, but he got the joke. Joshua grinned "Do you wanna take a ride around town?" Joshua asked "Or do we need to stay somewhat close to the party?"

(( It wasn't a joke, it was true. Speed is a turn on ))

She glanced back in the direction of the party and smirked. "I don't think they'll miss me too much." She returned her eyes to him. "Besides, I can do anything I want, I'm not a little girl anymore." She knew she couldn't do anything she wanted, but she wasn't going to let that stop her. "Let's go."

*bump*

~sorry, man i'm glad that i'm fast ~

"Great, I hope you like the mitsubishi 3000gt, it's fast but not much of a mafia car." Joshua laughed

"As long as it's fast, that's all I care about." She grinned, following him to the parking lot as she hugged her arms around herself, still smelling his cologne from his jacket.

"Babe, i like your style." He grinned, then opened the car door for her, then got in himself.

She grinned, blushing a little as she got into the car. She glanced around, the car was a small sports car, but cozy none the less. She felt the excitement rise in her. She watched Joshua get in, and then pulled down her visor, fixing her hair and checking her make up in the mirror.

Joshua turned on the car and revved the engine. He backed out, pulled out onto the street, and sped off, he went to 2nd gear, then 3rd.

The sun roof was open and her hair danced freely in the wind. The feeling of speed was exhilerating. She removed his coat from around her shoulders. She closed her eyes briefly, feeling the speed of the car as her body pressed gently against the passanger seat. A smile formed upon her lips.

Joshua pulled into an empty parking lot, then did a bunch of fish tails, and donuts.

Once the car finally came to a stop in the parking lot she looked over to him and smiled. "You certainly know how to have fun." Her eyes wandered over his face as the smile stayed upon her lips. She then recognized she was starring at him and she looked away.

Joshua looked at her "Ya, i suppose i do...Is there something wrong?"

She looked back at him. "No, nothing's wrong." She felt herself blushing.

"hmm, ok." Joshua said as he pulled out of the parking lot, onto the main street and then he sped on to the highway.

"Can we listen to some music?"

"Sure, radio or cd?" Joshua asked

"Anything you want to listen to is fine with me."

Joshua was stubborn "Well do you like rock?" He asked

"Yeah, I love rock." She said smiling.

"That's awesome." He said as he handed Angelina a cd case "Ladies, choose first." Joshua insisted.

She flipped through the pages and found 3 Doors Down and placed it in the CD player. "Kryptonite" came on, blaring through the speakers.

"See, you picked a good song." Joshua said tauntingly

"That shouldn't surprise you." She winked, running her hand playfully along his thigh, not too far up.

Joshua laughed "Yes, i should have guessed." Joshua accelerated on the highway, he reached 100mph in no time.

As he went faster her hand brushed up higher along his leg, and then away back to her side of the car. She turned the music up a little louder.
"woohoo!" She screamed enthustiastically. For the first time she felt free.

Joshua was stuck to the back of his seat, he had notice that she moved her hand back to her side. "So when's the last time you've had fun like this?" He asked Angelina.

She looked over to him. "Actually, I can't remember." She told him truthfully. "Being the daughter of a high power mafia boss doesn't allow much room for fun."

Joshua thought for a bit 'Dang, even though i was in the mafia, i had some time for fun, i think i'll show her a good time...' "Well just to explain something to you, this, is called fun." He smiled at her then sped up to 120.

She felt herself press into the seat as she closed her eyes and embraced the feeling.

All of a sudden, the cop warning light went off. "Oh crap!" Joshua said as he quickly slowed down to the normal speed. "Do you see him?" Joshua asked while looking around.

She turned around and looked out the back window seeing the flashing red and blue lights weave through the cars and approch them.
"Shit." She muttered. She turned back around and her eyes looked nervous.

Joshua looked at Angelina "Should we make a run for it?" He asked her out of nervousness.

She said the first thing that came to her mind. "Switch places with me."

Joshua wanted to argue, but didn't "Ok" he said while he switched seats with her.

She pulled the car over to the side of the road and sat up, pulling her dress back down. When she was switching seats with Josh, it rode up on her legs. She glanced in the rearview mirror and fixed her hair, and then saw the cop get out of the car and began to walk towards them.
"Just act drunk and sleepy." She whispered as she pulled the top of her dress down, exposing more of her cleavage. "Let me do the talking."
Just then the cop arrived at the door and knocked on the glass. She rolled down the window and he bent down to glance in.
"Good evening miss. Do you know how fast you were going?"
She looked up at him, and then glanced away. "Over the speed limit." She told him, her voice full of imaginary guilt.
"You can say that." He shinned his flashlight into the car onto her, and then onto Josh. His eyes returned to her. "Can you please step outside miss?"
She did as he asked as Josh waited in the car. A few minutes later she came back and they were free to leave. She didn't say anything as she drove away, glancing in the rear view mirror every now and then until the cop turned off of the highway. She took the next exit and pulled into an abandoned parking lot. She turned off the engine and looked over to Josh. "Problem solved."

Joshua raised his eyebrow "What did you do?" he asked Angelina.

"I just played on his male instincts." She explained quickly. "No offense." She added. "But I learned most men are seduced quite easily, and if I say the right things, I can get what I want. I don't like to do it, but I thought I owed it to you. I wouldn't want you getting in trouble with the law." She paused for a moment. "I didn't do anything, if you know what I mean. I just said a couple of flirtatious things and promised him I'd never speed again."

Joshua let out a sigh of relief "Yes, i curse and bless my male instinct, oh and thanks.' Joshua startd to laugh.

She laughed a little herself. "You're welcome." A short silence passed. "OK, switch places with me." She climbed over the top of him, brushing gently against him as she went back to the passanger side of the car.

Joshua brushed against her, intentionally, as he passed by her. "So where to now?" Joshua asked her

She thought for a moment. "Want to go to the beach?" (( if there's not a beach in Chicago.. then there is now! ))

~ ok, we'll make a beach time for my romantics to kick in ~

"The beach sounds fine." Joshua said

(( it doesn't have to be romantic, it's just something to do so they can talk and get to know eachother a little better ))

Joshua drove(sped) to the beach.

Jezebel took off her shoes and got out of the car, stepping barefoot into the soft sand. "Come on, let's go!" She said smiling. She ran through the sand, the wind rolling off of the water danced with her hair.

Joshua took of his shoes, and socks, and jumped on to the sand and ran to catch up with angelina.

She stopped before Josh reached her. She stood at the water's edge, still on the dry sand as she looked out at the black water. The wind sifted through her hair, pulling it away from her eyes.

She left his coat inside the car by accident as she held her arms around herself. She didn't want to appear weak to him as she stood there, watching the waves roll in.

Joshua could smell the perfumy smell, from angelina, that the wind was blowing at him. He caught up to her. "As a compliment, you smell very nice." He smiled

She turned around, smiling warmly at him. Her eyes locked onto his as she stood there, secretly admiring him. "Thank you."

He smelled the air again, "No problem at all." Joshua said as they started walking down the beach.

She walked beside him, running her feet through the cold sand slowly. It was a feeling she loved. She looked at the ground as she spoke. "So, are you seeing anyone?"

Joshua looked up at Angelina, then raised an eyebrow "No... Why?" Joshua asked

She looked up at him, and then back down to the sand as she shrugged her shoulders lightly. "Just wondering."

He walked closer to her, and put his hand on her chin and slowly moved her head up until they met eye to eye. Joshua stared into her eyes "Why?" he asked

She stared back into his eyes as she stood still. She looked as if she was about to say something, but she didn't. The wind kept dancing with her hair as it was blowing out of her face, her eyes staying locked on his. Slowly Angelina moved closer until her lips met his in a gentle kiss. She then moved back a step, still looking into his eyes. "That's why." She told him quietly, blushing slightly.

Joshua felt a warm rush all over his body. He still looked at her, then thought for a bit "Oh... Would you like to go out, for dinner?" Joshua insisted.

As the question rolled off of his tongue a new excitement filled her. She smiled, she must had been glowing. She wanted to go so bad, but her father would never let her. He only let her go out with the men he selected for her to go out with. Angelina was tired of him controlling every aspect of her life, and making her decisions for her. She felt something with Joshua she had never felt with any other guy before. She wasn't going to let him go just because he wasn't one of her father's selected favorites. She would have to sneak out of the house, but it was worth it.
"Sure." She said smiling brightly. "When would you like to go?"

"You will, that's great. How bout tomorrow at 7:00?" Joshua asked excitedly.

She shared the same excitement as he was feeling. "Seven is great!"

Joshua smiled "That's great, then tomorrow at 7 it is." Joshua said as they walked further down the beach.

*She walked at his side in silence, she was so excited that he asked her out, but she didn't want to act childish about it. She barely knew him afterall, and she didn't want to get her hopes up, just in case.*

Joshua thought for a bit "Hey, before we go back to the party, would you like to go get some ice cream?" He asked Angelina

She looked up at him. "Sure." She said smiling warmly. "That sounds good to me."

Joshua started ot get a little playful "Lasts one to the car buys the ice cream." Joshua said tauntingly, but he was going to buyu it either way.

She playfully shoved him to get a hard start and began to run.

"Cheaters never win." Joshua said, then laughed and ran after her.

She laughed and called back to him. "We'll see about that." She heard him right behind her.

Joshua laughed some more, but stayed behind her because he wanted her to win. "Hey slow down there speedy." Joshua teased.
