Darth Daft
What do you think Boss Nass's role in Episode 2 will be? Do you think he will return at all?

I'm really sorry if this has already been mentioned. Delete this topic if it has.

queeq
I hope not. There is also no mention of Brian Blessed starring in Ep2. So far...

Darth Daft
Yeah good point. I heard on one site that he would be a bad guy and try to assassinate the queen. Very unlikely though.

King Jedi
I don't think he will be in it. Maybe he dissapears like Panaka and Sio Bibble who aren't on the cast list either.

Ratcat
I haven't heaqrd anything either way. Though they could have filmed the chractyer using just about any stand-in an then add Brians Blesseds voice in afterwards.

Darth Daft
Perhaps after the Battle of Naboo the Gungans and the humans become more friendly towards each other and Boss Nass is given a seat at the Theed Council. Unlikely, but still possible.

Ratcat
What's the Theed Council?

Darth Daft
Sorry, I meant the people who surround the Queen when Palpatine's hologram disappears. Ya know, Sio Bibble and all them.

Dim
I don't know...maybe Nass won't be in it...it seems weird that we haven't heard anything about Blessed...

Ratcat
IT does yes though if she is no longer queen then it is likely that she wouldn't have contact with her old advisors, hence no Bibble.

Darth Daft
Perhaps the new queen was that one in that select picture.

King Jedi
Of all the actors I would say that Brian Blessed is the biggest Star Wars fan. He said that the three origional movies were the three best films he has ever seen. He also called George Lucas a "bloody genius". I hope he is in it just for that.

queeq
Well, Blessed actually acted in the scenes with Boss Nass. Otherwise everyone had to talk to air. To get the right effect Blesses was present in every scene that was shot with Nass, doing his weird voice. So my guess is that if Nass is in Ep2, it is either in a very small CGI appearance with no or very few lines.

It was rumored a while back that Nass had the first speaking lines in Epi.II.Do you think this was true?

Darth Daft
Strange if he did coz he also has the last-spoken lines in TPM: "PEACE!!!"

Ratcat
I heard that too EJ, I agree with queeg. If the part is small then they could get away with it.

Darth Daft
The first scene or shot in Star Wars always takes place in space and I can't really imagine Boss Nass going into space. Still, I guess it may be like TESB where there is no talking in the first few shots and then the first line takes place on a planet (Hoth).

queeq
With Nass scavenging for some shells, to compensate for the JarJar scene that was cut.

queeq out

Darth Daft
Yes thats a possibility, although with Nass' royalty and superioness (is there such word as that?) I doubt he would go out and find shells himself.

Dim
Maybe he has a shell collecting hobby laughing out loud (okay, I know that was lame but I was amused!)

Darth Daft
Don't worry. Funnier than anything I can make up. Still, you never know. Perhaps he NEEDS the shells. Ever seen Demolition Man? In that they use shells to wipe themself after going to the toilet. I have no idea how that do that though.

queeq
Maybe we will see him just throwing around his saliva again.

queeq out

Darth Daft
What was the point in him doing that? I find that clicking sound he makes rather annoying too.

Gundark
I wear a hearing aid in my right ear and I found both Boss Nass and the Nemoidians very difficult to understand. I had to concentrate really hard on what they were saying to understand what was going on in the beginning. Good thing George does those crawls.

Darth Daft
I actually find Jar Jar hard to understand sometimes.

Ratcat
Gundark, I have good hearing in both ears, though my left eye is rather dodgy but that's another story!!!

Anyway, my point was that both Boss Nass and the Nemoidians were hard to understand with two good ears. Nightmare huh?

queeq
I'm lucky. We have subtitles where I live and then the English is very easy to understand. Well, the Neimodian-English that is. Gungan subtitles were also hard to understand. LOL

Darth Daft
I'm partially deaf in one ear, but for some reason I didn't find Boss Nass or the Neimoidians hard to understand at all. I guess it kind of depends on how good you are with certain accents. Maybe thats why I had trouble with Jar Jar's accent. I'm no good with Jamaican I guess.

queeq
Well, good for you Daft. After all, it was only JarJar.

queeq out

Gundark
I had trouble understanding JarJar too. I've seen TPM only about 10 times and I'm still picking up stuff. RC, what is a dodgy eye ?

Ratcat
Doesn't work right. I was born with a congenital squint in my left eye and I had it operated on when I was about 6 or 7, this was waaayyy beofre laser surgery so it was a good old scalpel and stitchs job with my left eye popped out onto my cheek for the doc to operate on.

Anyway, that left me about 60-70% blind in my left eye. (so much for correcting a cosmetic defect huh???)

Anyway, I was offered the chance to go see a Russian specialist to have it sorted out about 2 years ago but I figured that I wouldn't as I have learnt to live my life basically living with one eye and I didn't want to go through learning to do everything with 2 eyes like driving and even walking.

I don't even think about it, I have enopugh vision that I can see shapes and stuiff but can't make out details unless I turn my head but after 24 years it's "normal" to me.

This should be in GDF, but you asked.

Sorry if this is a little gory but at least it's Halloween.

Darth Daft
Yeah, speaking of Halloween, I like the new layout for your site, Ratcat.
Anyway, better get back on topic before someone tells us off.

Gundark
Thanks for the bit of education, RC. It seems you've really learned to deal with it as best you can. smile

Further comment on the topic...I also felt Boss Nass was too easily swayed when Amidala was on her knees asking for help against the droid army. When he was originally confronted by obi wan and qui gon at the beginning, he was quite adamant about his whole position on the naboo-gungan relationship. AND I didn't see anything about the gungan's holy place where the gungans were hiding that made in secretive. It looked like any other place in the forest to me.

queeq
Well, as we know from the Smurfs a place in the forest can be very hard to find.

queeq out

Darth Daft
According to the "Inside the Worlds of Episode 1" book the Gungan Sacred Place was in the mountains right in the middle of the huge forest. Remember, the Trade Federation would only search close to Gungan cities or close to Theed or Naboo cities. They would not bother searching around every part of the forest especially the parts in the mountains, so it was in fact quite hidden, from the Federation at least.
