stick out tongue

I watched Apocalypse Now many years ago and didn't like it at all! Maybe I was too young when I watched it.... hmmmm....

War films are not my favourite genre, but there are a few that i like, my top 5 would be:

Braveheart
Saving Private Ryan
Platoon
Gallopolli (sp!)

I also liked Glory, and the recent Enemy at the Gates with Ed Harris and Jude Law.

And I am sooo looking forward to John Woo's Windtalkers!

Thomas H
I think windtalkers is going to be good, we where soldiers once better and black hawk down will be the best war movie ever!

Thomas H
its time to add Black Hawk Down now!

Steven Spielberg says Schindler's List isn't really a war movie.
its, uh, more of a holocaust movie then a war movie. War movies usually are somewhat fair in their violence, but, you know, un-armed Jews and armed Nazis isn't really that fair.

but...if you must....

Schindler's List *
Saving Private Ryan
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
The Thin Red Line
Apocalypse Now

Dude, I saw Crimson Tide last night and it was one of the best (top 50) I've ever seen. I was tired as hell and it still kept me on the edge of my seat. Where did movies like that go nowadays? Ahhhh, the writer's strike. Strikers, go away!
