which do you think in cinematic history is the best torture scene?
in terms of look and style.
plus...rape is also a form of torture. it is anything that is non-lethal.

Irrversible and Audition are both about equal in my mind. The passion was just a guy getting whipped, nothign special there.

actually, he wasn't just being whipped with a whip though. Didn't you see the cat of nine tails that ripped his flesh and exposed his ribs? I think that qualifies as torture. And it's the WORST tourture scene, NOT THE BEST. Also, I think the crucifixion was worse than the scourging. However, it was cinematically beautiful to see him giving his life for ours. I'm a christian, by the way.

Three Kings - Somewhat funny and totally method acting torture sequence

Braveheart - Mel Gibson really knows how to torture people.

the whole russian roulette thing in "the dear hunter" was probably the one i would pick as being the worst torture scene, aside of the passion. I mean that is some major mind f-uck torture right there

The scene in seven dawn was pretty bad to, the guy was wrapped in barbed wire and that hcik took a grinder to his skull i mean damn where do they come up with this crap

i havent really seen many torture sences..ive seen gross piccys of some1 who was tortured.like in taking lives.. where he wood stangle them cut of their hands and smash their face in wit a rock.

Last House on the Left was a great torture scene. More humiliation then anything else. but still horrible to look at.
