Heya,

Ok, so I go to the opening day of Kill Bill 2 and as a complete co-incidence in the film David Carradine is playing the type of flute that I have been searching for for a long while. The thing is, I'm not sure what kind it is or even where that type and style of flute originates from. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
~Thor

The flute used to dub David Carradine's flute playing in Kill Bill 2 is actually a Bolivian quenacho recorded by Adrienne Inglis of Austin-based Latin American folk music trio Chaski. There's a photo of it on their website. The quenacho is a vertical notched flute similar to a shakuhachi and sounds an octave higher than David Carradine's flute.

no! the flute used in the movie was that of the one he used in KUNG FU the series... and he plays it himself.

I was thinking about that flute the other day. Is it the same flute when he was telling the story of Pai Mei? Gotta double check. blink
