IMHO, 1987 was the best year for films. Now 1972 was pretty good, but 1987 is hard to top. If you can beat this year, then prove it.

Let me run through the Oscar nominees:
The Last Emperor (Best Picture)
Moonstruck
Fatal Attraction (Damn good movie)
Hope and Glory
Broadcast News

Now let me run through the rest of the best:
1987 brought us....
La Bamba
Full Metal Jacket
Empire of the Sun
Good Morning, Vietnam
The Princess Bride
Robocop
Hellraiser
Harry and the Hendersons
River's Edge (my fave, BTW)
Evil Dead 2
Raising Arizona
Wall Street
Fatal Attraction (mentioned again, b/c it is great)
The Lost Boys
Hollywood Shuffle
Spaceballs
Predator
The Running Man
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Less Than Zero
The Untouchables
The Witches of Eastwick
The Dead
My Life as a Dog
Roxanne
Near Dark
Dirty Dancing
The Stepfather

Now this is not a post which needs replies like, "'xxxx' movie from 1987 sucks!!' I just want you to prove that any other year was better. Do it.

I hate sequels anyways and yes I know that Evil Dead 2 is on my list, but I'm willing to include it because it is a good film. Just like Godfather II; there are few exceptions.

Let's hear it.

Being an 80's child, I have to say that kid's movies aren't like how they used to be. I liked The Navigator and The Goonies, stuff like that, now theres just... Nothing as good.
