there was a cool theory of palpatine beiing sidious clone. after palpatine has done all the hard job in the senate he gets killed by sidious and he replaces him. cool theory... it explained why palpatine has sicky face and why sidius doesnt.

get to geter and fight palpatine transform into sidious (white skin, yellow eyes),there was also speculations on the force.net that sidious fire lightning at mace-windu and windu block the lightning with saber (ep2 obi-wan/dokuu encounter)

Yeah, I think that's true. There was a pic floating around a while ago which looked somewhat like Mace deflecting force lightning.

yes i agree the old triology the sabers are kind of fuzzy
