So some Watchmen-related threads recently, but I don't think I have seen this fight made yet.
- Everyone is wearing their standard uniforms, but no weapons
- Win via KO/Death
- Fight takes place in Ozy's lair
- Opponents start 10 feet from each other
So who do you all think is next best, after Ozy?
Inhuman
Is this old over the hill drunk Comedian?
1. Nite Owl
2 .(over the hill)Comedian
3. Rorschach
4. Silk Spectre
TheVaultDweller
Don't underestimate an old, angry drunk.
But I am going to say the most current, pre-death movie version. Because if peak Comedian was in any way close to his comic counterpart, he would wreck those two. Younger Comedian beat a younger Ozy in a Watchmen prequel comic IIRC. But then younger Ozy probably wasn't as good as he was by the time of Watchmen.
Anyway, just go with the old one for this. Less speculation required.

Comedian. Being old makes it more competitive, but he still takes the win.
TheVaultDweller
I was actually leaning towards the Comedian myself, if I am honest. Ozy had a very clear edge on him during their fight, but it felt more frantic and tense, as though if Ozy did drop the ball, Comedian would be ready to pounce and at least maybe get a solid hit or two in. I never got anywhere near that impression when Ozy was schooling Nite Owl and Rorschach 2-on-1, while giving a monologue no less.

Yeah, I rewatched both fights today, and Comedian looked superior to the pair in pretty much every regard. He took the hits better, and was able to stand toe-to-toe with greater 'success'. When Ozy was fighting the pair, he wasn't even trying to kill them, yet one hit generally had them floored.
Inhuman
I was going to put Comedian first but since this was the over the hill version I put him second.
But yeah even at an older age he's probably superior to Now Owl.

Just the fact that you know and have read the prequel tie-in deserves a

I know we don't always agree, but I do appreciate the fact that you know a lot of the source material we use in a debate. It's refreshing.
I'm going to have to refresh my memory as well. I thought it was more of stalemate, with Comedian obviously doing better than he did later. I'll have to check it out again. It's been a long time.

Agreed. Totally. Comedian also showed great durability to take what he took. Plus, at one point he was able to bull-rush Ozy into a wall and momentarily stop on the onslaught. Better than either Nite Owl and Rorschach.

Well, sometimes we disagree. But we do agree often enough as well. It's just more spectacular when we don't.
Admittedly, it's been a while since I've read it myself, but I swear I recall Comedian holding somewhat of an edge. But, as I said, it's been a while. Either way, even just stalemating him is leaps and bounds better than how anyone actually fared in the film.

If this is Comedian in his prime I'd pick him to win. Old Comedian at least went up against Ozy on his own. Still got beat up but that's less humiliating than Nightowl and Roscharch tag teaming Ozy and still getting beat up.
Then again, even old Comedian had better feats than any of the 3. So yeah, Comedian first followed by Silk Spectre. Night Owl should have been 2nd but he'll get distracted by Silk Spectre which puts her in 2nd spot.

This is actually a pretty good point now that I think about it, and should seal it for Comedian. Ozy specifically attacked Comedian at home while the guy wasn't exactly battle ready (he was in a bathrobe, watching tv), with the intent to kill. Rorschach and Nite Owl pitched up ready for a fight, and Ozy wasn't even really interested in taking them out, as it was too late to stop his plans in anyways. Yet, even then, Comedian performed better one-on-one than the pair did two-on-one.
