I want some HALF intelligent suggestions for 16 candidates (Comics, movies, video games) for a superhero showdown. What I'll do is take all 16, throw em in a hat, and pull out pairs of 2 and do myself a good ole fashioned tourn-a-ment.

Everyone has 3 nominations. You can use them all on the same character, or on 3 different characters, 2 on one, etc. etc. next week Ill tally them all up and the 16 most popular will be chosen. If at any point you change your mind, use the edit button. Anyone with two posts (not double posts) will be NOT be considered.

To decide who wins the fights I'll confer with a council of 3 other members of this board, who I find to be the most knowledgable. We will decide who wins each fight, why, etc. I will then write them all up and hopefully have this done before the end of august. Hopefully.

Nope, but try to avoid characters like Thanos and the such, it's really hard to have interesting fights with such strong characters.

Green Lantern (Hal Jorden) - Before the distruction of his city and he went all crazy/vengful.

Green Lantern (Hal Jorden) - After he has killed all the Guardians but just before he steps into the Battery and becomes Parallex (reason I chose this spefic time of Hal Jordan's life is because he has lost all his aversion to killing and it is just before he becomes all powerful but he still has all those rings).

Parallex - After his plan for recreating the Universe failed but before he died saving earth.

Well it makes it less fun when you don't want super-strong characters. Characters like Galactus and Ego are too large and odd to include, but I want to say Loki, Mephisto, and Thanos for the bad side and Thor, Silver Surfer, and Hulk for the good. If the characters have to be fairly normal, then I say Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Captain America. That would be interesting to see which hand-to-hand fighter would come out on top.

i've named hawkeye before but i just think it would be cool to pair him against another human, although the gun is faster than the bow, he has some insane arrows to use lol

Yeah Hulk and Surfer are way out of the league of any of the other punks. As for Hawkeye/Punisher, Hawkeye's the better fighter. Punisher is nothing without his guns unless he gets a dumbass writer who thinks he's cool. I forgot my choices for this, and it seems like it doesn't matter anymore, but I like Captain America, Spider-Man, and Daredevil if the qualifications are just fighting ability and reflexes.
