What was the advantage Obi-Wan had over Anakin prior to his going into hiding?
When Obi-Wan and Vader are dualing in Episode IV, Vader says "When last we met I was but a learner, now I am the master". We know Ben kicks butt as a Jedi, but we also see Anakin constantly bailing him out in Episode II. So why did Vader say that? Was it because Anakin was still immature and unable to control his emotions? Lend your thoughts..

OB1 was always higher as him, and in AOTC we see them working as a team, but when it comes on dueling, both got defeated by Dooku and Yoda needed to save them
nonetheless, OB1 will be in the JC apperently and Anakin won't, won't even be a master
so, now he is a full worthy master ... in evil of course

After the duel in Episode 3, it should make Obi-Wan vs. Vader in ANH a bit more special seeing that it is the first time they've met since their legendary showdown.
Ushgarak
Anakin may be powerful but his training is not yet done by the time of his fight with Obi-Wan. Whereas, as yerssot says, Obi-Wan is a Master by then.
Ken Benobi
Anakin must somehow become a full Jedi before he turns then, to be called a Jedi Knight, otherwise he couldn't use the title. Unless he claimed to get it from Palpatine....? But then he would get a Sith name anyway...
Sith Master X
Yeah, Anakin is a Jedi Knight in Episode 3, that I am sure of.
yerssot
everyone is sure of that SMX, it's said already

Sith Master X
I know, I meant that in regards to Benobi because I thought he was unsure on Anakin's status in ROTS.
Ken Benobi
Yeah, I was unsure on it, and partly because Anakin is still with Obi-Wan. I know it's part of the storyline, but if he is a Jedi Knight, could he technically still be considered Obi-Wan's Padawan?
Darth_Nefarus
Think about how in AOTC how Anakin flips out and kills the Tuskens. Do you really think that was anything compared to the state of berserked fighting Anakin will be at. But Obi-Wan is too wise to let his emotion get in the way, even though I bet he'll be trying to convince Anakin to calm down.

on the subject of Obi and Vader in ANH,
When Obi Wan sees Vader for the 1st time he looks sort of surprized even though they have already sensed each other, why is that , is it the 1st time Kenobi sees Vader in his black suit?
Morgoths_Wrath
I'm not sure, but its probably the first time obi-wan saw anakin/vader since thier battle in ROTS. And I think it would be cool if GL re-did the battle with vader and ben kenobi for the new DVD trilogy coming out, b/c that fight was lame.

Hmm...
Good question about Obi-Wan seeing Vader, guess we'll know next year....
Xam
ok question
is the duel in epIV remade in the re-release of the classic trilogy?
waynerobsonuk
No, it's exactly the same as far as I can tell. Apart from the lightsabers looking a helluva lot better it seems identical to me.
wayne...
Cipher
Yeah, I haven't heard of any changes like that. Other than old rumors...
