A few Matrix questions

Hi all, my buddy and i argued about 2 hours trying to figure out these questions about the matrix.

One of these questions was about Neo... We all know in the first one how Neo had two jobs, a computer hacker and a respectful employee worker for a business... The conflict I had with my buddy was that was their a glitch in the matrix making Neo having two jobs rather then him being one or the other.. Was the matrix making a glitch making Neo have two jobs or did Neo just have two jobs normally in the matrix making him work 24/7?... Is that why Trinity tells Neo he knows there's not something right about the matrix but he just cant place it on his lips?

Our second conflict question was why is there "the one" who made the "the one" and how did he get discovered? Did "The One" make the matrix or did the architect make it? How is the one able to bend the rules of the matrix and nobody else and did he die and come back later and then Morpheus somehow found him?

ok, as for your first question, when they said he had two lives, they were refering to his totally different personalities that each 'life' had. ie, the Thomas Anderson worked at a software company, and was an upstanding citizen, whereas "neo' is a computer hacker, which could be considered part of the unsavory character type. There is nothing MAKING him be a hacker, but it is what he enjoys.

as for the second, The One was the result of choice being entered into the equation. The one did not make The one, the one is created by the doubts of all the people in the Matrix being manifested in one person. All these doubts give Neo the ability to bend, even break the rules of the matrix. The one was killed, or died, and the one came back, but it is not the same person.

Why didn't Neo bring Trinity back to life in Revolutions????

They were in the real world. Neo can only bend the "Matrix" has he sees fit. Besides, remember what the Architect said:"She is going to die, and there is nothing you can do to stop that" or something of that nature. The point is that they were both meant to die. Remember, the oracle said "one of you are going to die" and so, Neo died. The Architect said trinity was going to die, so she died. They both had there second chances, and they still had to die. It was fate.

For the record, when the Oracle said to Neo "One of you is going to die," she is refering to Neo sacrificing his life for Morpheus, which is exactly what he does do. Everything the oracle says in the first one is true, she says that Neo or Morpheus is going to die, and that Neo will becomne the one in another life time.
Neo dies because he went back into the Matrix to save Morpheus, if he had not gone in, he would not have been shot by Smith. He dies, making the first part of the Oracles statement true, that he dies saving Morpheus. Then, he is in another life time, and as it is in this life time that he is the one, he is able to make his body alive again.
Besides all this, we know that the pracle saying that Neo was going to die can only be about the first Matrix becaue it was only after the massive success of the first <atrix film that the directors started making the sequels.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious...but seriously, the Oracle was more than right...she was leading them in the direction she was supposed to lead them, so that the One would continue the iterations...until, of course, the 'true' One came along, at which case, she would help them end the iteration.

The fact that Neo was going to die was a universal truth. Either way you look at it, the fact that "one of you is going to die" remains. On the other hand, does the Architect have oracle like powers?, for he stated that "She is going to die, and there is nothing you can do to stop it". Trinity did die in Reloaded, but was brought back to life. The universal truth reamained, and she truely died in Revolutions. Seeing as how the oracle and the Architect represent the two sides of God, it would make since that they both have prophetic abilities, while the prophetic words of the Oracle are cryptic, and the words of the Architect hidden in mathematical terms.

JediHDM
it is not that they are "prophetic", it is that they are programmed to read code. The Oracle can read the coding of the Matrix and those in it, and then come up with probabilities based on human traits. The Architect cannot, he is used to solving for variables that are unique. In the Matrix, to call someone a 'Prophet' or an 'Oracle' is to misunderstand what that person does.

Superfly4000
Whats your point

JediHDM
ok, let me say this in another way. The Oracle, is a program created to read the coding of the human avatars(for lack of a better word) in the matrix and decide the courses of action between these people. She also has access to the algorithms of the Matrix, and thus can "see" the future before it actually happens. Neo dieing is not a universal truth. Neo could have let him die. However, and the Oracle knew this, Neo would see how much Morpheus meant to people, and he would have to go save Morpheus. As for the Architect, he cannot see the future, in any way, just as the Oracle said. When he said "she is going to die", it was implied to Neo that she would die in the next few minutes. He said this not because he saw her dieing, but because he needed Neo to go through the door to Neo's right. I mean, ultimately, everyone dies. So, saying that "ultimately" he was right is not a very reassuring statement. He cannot see the future. He may be a god type in the matrix, but he is most definitely not God. The Architect and the Oracle can be seen, more accurately, as a Yin and Yang. He is logical to the extreme, whereas she is emotional/psychological.

Yes, Neo is far from god. He flew away in reloaded, remember.

Superfly4000
We weren't reffering to Neo as a God...

xeous
That thing about Archie telling him that there was nothing he could do to stop it was to try and push him to make the OTHER choice...

Boston game is comming on so, we'll have to leave it at that.

Superfly4000
But how can you be so sure...

JediHDM
what do you mean, how can we be so sure? The Oracle told us. and the oracle is always right...lol

mailedbypostman
True, well sort of. But not really. But not exactly. But not probably.

Superfly4000
Exactly my point
