Which Star Wars movie is better 1 or 2?

depends on what you're looking for ...

I is a great stand alone story, with some hints to further developments
while II is more into Star Wars feel

if i have to make a choice, 2...by far.

darth maul was the sh!t. so was mace and jango. ep 2 was cheesier IMO.

Episode 2 was by far better then Episode 1 in my opinion. Though I still love them both.

What do you like about AOTC so much SMX? I like too, but I'm just curious because a lot of times I think you have mentioned it being your fave.

i love origin concepts, even though 2 had that too,i still like 1 better, 2 had too much cgi, and it was also cheesy, entertaining, but lame......if that makes any sense....i would pick jar-jar over count dooku, i hate the character with a passion, but thats just me...

I'm agreeing with you on a lot of things it seems.

I too like 1 better, I too think 2 had too much CGI, and I too think Count Dooku is crap.

I mean that whole fight with Darth Maul was really the only thing I liked in one.The acting was horrible.Jake Lylod can't even acted.
It beats me why he was even picked.Anyway the second one is the best and that part with Yoda fighting man that was classic!I just hope the third one is going to be the best of the new ones!

Does anyone not like II because it had to much dialouge. My friend doesnt like it because he says its boring.
He hasnt even seen the orignal trilogy

The main thing I hate about Episode II is the toe-curling dialogue between Padme and Anakin.

Compare the banter between Anakin and Padme to Han and Leia and it becomes all the more obvious.

Padme: "I truly....deeply....love you"

OR

Han and Leia: "I love you.........I know"

Also, I hate the fight between Yoda and Dooku, especially the bit where Dooku doesn't even fight in Yodas direction at one point.

Episode 1 is a pointless, stupid movie, but so was Episode 2, and the only thing you can go by is the action scenes, by which Episode 1 stands alone with the duel and the pod-race.

The only thing even remotely satisfying about Episode 2 are those brilliant Clone Troopers - but they have been put to better use in the Clone Wars cartoon.

I like them both but, EpII is my favourite.

Hmm, I guess I like the whole atmosphere better. The way the movie feels, the action sequences, the whole plot. It was alot more exciting and face paced compared to Episode 1. Also, I think the lightsaber duels in AOTC were absolutely brilliant. I know many disagree, but for me, that is the best duel of the saga yet.

Also, Episode 3 is my favorite...and it's not even out yet.

We anticipate that EpIII will be our favourite.

Episode II, hands down. Nothing happened of any significance that you couldn't have put in the yellow text of Episode II.

Uh, I have to go with I.

It really contrasts the originals as being sorta Star Wars, but at the same time being more like a mythological legend, which seems like a good atmosphere for the "Mysterious youth" of anakin skywalker.

Episode II simply works to translate those fantastical things more thoroughly into the "modern" Star Wars universe.

well..this is a tough one for me as I think both movies were missed opportunities. But the sickly mushy drivel between padme and anakin in Ep2, the lengthy and unengaging political dialogue, the ridiculous flying car chase sequence, the badly put together cgi when anakin rides the back of that creature thing. The room packed full of children with a working light sabre each to train with, the side-splitting death of anakins mother who amazingly and coincidentally dies 5 minutes after he finds her...oh I could go on but I wont. Anyway.....thus I opt for Ep1 as being the better of the two. Even if I do have to suffer the cartoonish antics of jar jar non-stop throughout the movie.

GL...if you're reading this...get a yourself a goddam script editor for gods sake. Oh ..and a director would be nice. (one other than you).

Darth Maul was a shit alright. a shitty villian.he looked like one of those wrestlers out of WWF.the phantom menace sucked worse than ATTACK OF THE CLONES.at least Darth Maul was not in AOTC.

AOTC was worse. TPM had the least blue/green screens in it, and he filmed in Tunisia, so I have to give Lucas some props for that. Both still contradict the OOT in horrible ways.

i love ep. 2 and its for the reason that most hate it, i dont know why but the ani-padme story line is what gets me liking it, i thought pretty much all of obi's moments in the film were boring--kamino, etc. but the chessy love stuff does it for me, that and the fact that we finally saw a whole bunch of jedi in action at once
