This may souns stupid, but man i never understood how lea knew of obi wan and how she knew he was her only hope. Somebody please tell me. Be nice

Well since Bail and Obi-Wan fought in the Clone Wars (and supposibly are in scenes together in Revenge of the Sith), I think that Bail just decides to tell Princess Leia to get Obi-Wan on Tatooine and bring him to Alderaan, since the Death Star plans were in the possession of the Alliance, Bail figured if they had the power to destroy the Death Star and Obi-Wan could help them. Just a thought

that was always my understanding as well. they were supposed to take the plans to alderaan, and obi-wan would be a useful ally in that. What I'm wondering is if the timing is actually part of the plan to make use of Luke and Leia, I don't have an opinion one way or another, it'll just be intersting to see in ROTS if that's when the twins were supposed to get with Obi for training or not. I know Obi-wan may not know of Leia's identity, but he does look at R2 funny once Leia introduces herself, almost as if he's recognizing that its the same R2 from back in the day.

That, or he kept his knowledge of R2D2 a secret to help simplify things for Luke, make his objective clear and not confuse the boy.

Obi-Wan also has a habit of being a little deceptive anyway, it was to protect Luke.

yeah, I agree Superfly. I assume that's why he never mentioned Qui-gon or any of that "glory days" stuff because it would simply confuse him and/or distract him. Better he stay focused. I honestly don't think they were ever gonna tell him who his father was. It would be easier to fight Vader thinking he was the ultimate bad guy who couldn't have an ounce of good in him than if he knew the truth.

Princess Leia? She is Anakin/Vader's daughter and Padme's who was hidden along with her Twin brother, Luke. LOL

He helped deliver the twins: Leia & Luke. And has been a guardian to Leia for most of her life, and is known as Ben Kenobi, to hide his Jedi heirage.

uhhhh...no. Ben is supposed to watch over Luke and has since the end of ROTS. Leia was to be watched by Organa, and has since the end of ROTS. Ben hasn't seen leia since her birth, assuming he is present for it.

Well, he might not have been, as he says that luke was their last hope, and yoda had to tell him that there is another. After all of obiwans failures, it would be understandable for yoda to not tell kenobi about leia, but only tell him about luke

I dont honestly see how they were hiding Luke by leaving him with the family of Vader on the planet of Vaders birth, with the exact same name. I mean, with the unlimited resources of the Empire im sure a quick google search of Skywalker would have soon had Vader locating his son.

up until Empire Strikes Back Vader hadn't really admitted he even had a son. remember the emperor told him sumthin like find it within in yourself you have a son some crap like that.
As to why he never checked in on Skywalker i got no idea? My only guess is maybe he was trying to push his mother's death away i dunno

well, Sidous tells Anakin that he killed Padme, and im guessing he figures that the baby dies along with her. And Leia's last name has always been Organa(refer to toy boxes etc.), so if the person who raised you has the same last name as you, you may tend to think that person is your father.....
