Ive heard there trying to make a metal gear solid movie but the thing is some one already has its called ''new york something'' because the man is trying to save the world and his name is also Snake or Pliskin.

Hideo Kojima is a fan of action films.

Solid Snake was originally inspired by the likes of Kyle Reese from Terminator.

When it came to do Metal Gear Solid 2, Hideo Kojima made reference to a movie called Escape From New York starring Kurt Russell, who plays a character called Snake Pliskin. That is why he dubbed Solid Snake as "Pliskin"

Escape From New York has nothing to do with Metal Gear, only that Hideo Kojima likes them and wanted to make a joke that even simple minded people would understand.
